We offer “Forecasting as a Service” for SMEs – AI-powered, easy to integrate, and highly accurate.
What is your idea about?
Many small and medium-sized enterprises face the challenge of reliably forecasting key business metrics like demand, staffing needs, or production volumes. Traditional methods often reach their limits – especially in a volatile market environment. Our idea addresses this issue, enabling data-driven decisions that save resources and enhance competitiveness.
Rethinking forecasting - easily accessible and highly accurate
IIn an increasingly volatile economic landscape, it is more important than ever for companies to base their decisions on reliable forecasts. However, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) often lack the capacity and technological know-how to develop or run complex forecasting models. That’s where we come in: our start-up was founded to bridge this gap. We are an interdisciplinary team with deep technological expertise and strong market knowledge – united by the belief that more accurate forecasts are key to more efficient, sustainable, and resilient business processes.
Our vision is to rethink forecasting – making it easily accessible, highly accurate, and perfectly tailored to the needs of SMEs. We rely on state-of-the-art AI research methods and combine them with a deep understanding of real-world business challenges. We don’t offer a black box, but real added value: better planning reliability, lower costs, reduced waste, and higher customer satisfaction. Our solution integrates seamlessly into existing processes – without high IT or user-side hurdles.
In the long term, we aim to become the leading provider of predictive intelligence for Europe’s SME sector – establishing forecasting where it has rarely been used before.
How did you get together as a team?
Our founding story began – as is often the case – with a shared passion and a good dose of coincidence. Julian was working on a machine learning project as part of an advanced training program, which provided the initial spark for our idea. At the same time, Steffen contributed his expertise from research and development – during his PhD, he had focused intensively on data analysis and AI models. The two started talking, exchanged ideas, complemented each other professionally – and quickly realized that something bigger could come out of it.
What was still missing was a strategic and operational perspective. That’s where Laura came in: with her background in business development, international consulting, and IT security, she immediately saw the potential and helped turn the vision into a viable business model. What unites us is not only our interest in future technologies, but also the desire to solve a real-world problem – and to create tangible value for businesses.
In the early stages, it became clear that branding and communication would be key success factors – not just for visibility, but also for building trust. While looking for support in marketing and brand development, we met Sarah, who was eager to help shape foresAIght.ai from the ground up. With her expertise in strategic marketing and brand communication, the team was complete.
How did you come up with your idea?
The idea for foresAIght.ai came from observing that many companies – especially in logistics and manufacturing – still rely on outdated or very basic forecasting methods. At the same time, we knew from our professional and personal experience how critical accurate forecasts are for planning, cost structures, and resource management.
The spark came when Julian worked on a project during his advanced machine learning program, which laid the groundwork for foresAIght.ai. In parallel, Steffen was researching similar topics. Both saw not just an exciting field, but a real, unsolved problem with broad industrial relevance.
In conversations with contacts from the logistics industry, the potential of an intelligent, flexible, and accessible forecasting solution became clear – particularly for SMEs that often lack the time, resources, or IT expertise.
Laura immediately saw the strategic opportunity and contributed her experience in business development. The idea didn’t arise in a vacuum – it emerged from real challenges businesses face every day. foresAIght.ai was born out of the desire to use cutting-edge technology with purpose – not as an end in itself, but as a tool for better decision-making.
Funfact
Our most amusing forecast so far? A 32% surge in pesticide demand – right at the start of the year’s first heatwave. Apparently, the insects took it as an official invite: “Beach season is on – let’s hit the pantry!” Our AI saw it coming. The insects didn’t stand a chance.
