The TecKnowLogic team develops innovative, health-focused technologies for recreational and professional sports, aiming to enhance training efficiency and ensure accessibility for everyone. Our team conducts research and development in the fields of AI, image processing, transmission technologies, hardware, gateware, and software.

Currently, the team is working on an innovative navigation aid for visually impaired swimmers, designed to provide them with greater safety and independence in the water. Due to the lack of visual orientation, even experienced athletes often rely heavily on assistance from others. Our solution aims to make swimming more accessible for visually impaired individuals and reduce their dependency in inclusive swimming settings.

The idea originated from a collaboration initiated by Hans-Peter Haupt between the University of Leipzig and TH Köln. Through our mentor, Prof. Dr. Krawutschke, research projects were announced at TH Köln, which Mel Fohrn and Fabian Hoffmann undertook as part of their thesis work. Dave Fohrn supported the project as a staff member under Prof. Dr. Krawutschke.

Our motivation is to develop new, cutting-edge technologies at the forefront of research, working closely with people's needs to sustainably improve quality of life and promote inclusion.
