Shaping the future: Seven start-ups present their visions at Demo Day | April 2024

After six months of intensive training, the time had come for Demo Day: seven promising startups from the Gateway Accelerator presented their business models to a dedicated community of investors and experts. The event offered a lively insight into the innovative landscape of tomorrow.

Innovative solutions from a variety of industries

Among the Accelerator startups are W1nnas, who aim to revolutionize athletic performance with its nutritious food supplement pouches, and Senf.app, who enable citizens to participate in public projects digitally.

Athlete Capital offers a new type of platform that simplifies investments in startups by professional athletes. Zentras and neonto also made an impression with their AI-based solutions, designed to set new standards both in the medical field and in quality assurance.

Just as innovative are ClipClap with its clever clip-on pedal adapter for cycling shoes and ChargeUnity, a private solution for renting out electric charging stations in public spaces.

International perspectives and discussions

In addition to providing insights into local innovations, the evening offered an additional European perspective: four startups from Luxembourg presented their ideas in strong pitches.

Enidia - AI chatbots for legal and customer service
MoveMe - A relocation platform focussing on moving abroad (e.g. for students or employees)
Kidola - An ERP planning system (Saas-based) for daycare an the childcare sector
Staysco - A platform to get access to various accommodation types around the world, ensuring safe and compliant relocation's or business trips for employees.

The panel discussion on “International Opportunities” featured insightful contributions from Georgia Kossman, International Affairs Advisor at Luxembourg Trade & Invest, part of the Luxembourg Chambre de Commerce, and Thomas Batsleer, early stage tech investor at Holland Capital.

The two guests' in-depth knowledge of international trade and investment strategies provided participants with valuable insights and practical tips for expanding into new markets. The focus was on intensive exchange and the development of a European startup ecosystem to strengthen cooperation and benefit from country-specific expertise.

The discussion provided an opportunity to learn from experienced industry experts and exchange views on future challenges and opportunities.

We would like to thank all the startups that took part in Demo Day and our Gateway Accelerator Batch #3. It was great to see how you are driving your ideas and projects forward. We are excited to see how your ideas will evolve. We look forward to supporting you in the future and continuing to keep growing together.

What's next?

Now we will be saying goodbye to the current teams and making room for new faces. Don't forget: The C3 Competition starts on May 1st, and Accelerator Batch #4 will start soon after. Stay tuned so you don't miss any updates!

"The six-month Gateway Accelerator programme helped us to build up the necessary entrepreneurial knowledge. The intensive workshops and the dialogue in the one-on-one sessions helped us to turn our idea into a working business model.

By participating in the C3 competition at the beginning of the Accelerator, we realised that our idea had potential and that experienced founders also saw this potential. This motivated not only us founders, but also the whole team behind zentras. We would recommend all founders to take advantage of this opportunity.”

Dr. med. Michael Schönfeld, founder of zentras.

What is a Demo Day?

Demo Day provides a platform for young companies to present their ideas and innovations to a wider audience.

Demo Day marks the highlight of our Gateway Accelerator programme, in which start-ups have worked intensively on their business models and products over a period of six months. On this day, the teams have the chance to present their progress to a broad audience of investors, industry experts and other interested parties. It is an opportunity to receive feedback, expand their networks and secure potential investments and partnerships.
