About us
Gateway Excellence Start-up Center at the University of Cologne promotes entrepreneurial thinking and action. We want to highlight the potential of a diverse range of cutting-edge research. To accomplish this, our transferscouts identify and accompany promising ideas.
Coaches and mentors support our start-ups by offering guidance on issues like financing and business models. In addition, we have co-working spaces and both an accelerator and an incubator program.
The Accelerator program focuses on leadership, team development, and internationalization. We established nine new foundation professorships and a funding partnership with business partners. With these and other initiatives, we are elevating entrepreneurship at the University of Cologne to a new level.

We want to inspire and empower people to put their own ideas into action, thereby shaping a sustainable society through entrepreneurial means.
Background
We are one of six Excellence Start-up Centers at universities in NRW. They are part of the Excellence Initiative of the Ministry of Economics, Industry, Climate Protection, and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. Learn more about Germany's largest start-up funding program.
